The latest Rovers walk saw members meet by the River Teifi underneath Cilgerran Castle. The walk started by looking at the castle and continuing into the Welsh Wildlife Centre, the trail following the river gorge and old slate quarry workings. Continuing past the wildlife centre buildings we followed the new cycle trail to just before Cardigan bridge where we took the path going away from the river towards the Heron Hide where lunch was taken. Heading back towards the Centre we were lucky to see close up the water buffalo including a recent arrival which is only about 4weeks old. (see photos). The last stretch took us along inland paths, past the woodland crafts college with its teepees and yurts, back to the start where it was just beginning to cloud over. All in all, and having managed to avoid most of the strong westerly winds, a most enjoyable winter walk.
