Special Geology Lecture “In Crisis … Energy … the Basis of Civilisation”
Richard Hardman CBE, a former president of the Geological Society
All U3A Members are invited to attend a free Special Lecture at the Torch Theatre on Thursday, 6th October at 1.00pm entitled “In Crisis … Energy … the Basis of Civilisation” to be given by Mr. Richard Hardman CBE, a former president of the Geological Society (of London), Chairman of the Petroleum Society of GB, and the doyen of exploration geologists worldwide.
This Lecture is another in the series of Lectures organised through Chris Evans of Pembroke School in association with PESST Pembrokeshire Earth Sciences Schools Trust. Previous expert speakers have included Professor Ian Stuart of Plymouth University and TV fame. These lectures have been well received and are highly recommended.
This presentation will cover worldwide energy provision, as cheap, abundant and accessible energy but is the party over and if so what are we going to do about it?
There is a Buffet, with priority to the attending Pembroke, Taskers and Tenby students from 12.15pm with the talk from 1.00pm which on this occasion will be held in the main auditorium.
If you wish to attend please contact Graham Goodeve (01437 741391) or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org preferably by Monday, 3rd October so that I may pass on information of numbers attending to Chris Evans.
