I have just had information about an Astronomy Study Day being organised by Cardigan U3A next month. I understand the programme is as follows:
Date: Friday, March 31st, 2017
Place: Cardigan Guildhall, Pendre, Cardigan SA43 1JL (There is ample “Pay and Display parking at the rear of the Guildhall.)
Time: Coffee from 10-10.30am, first talk at 10.30am, with the day finishing around 3.30pm
Cost: £10..00 per person This covers costs and a buffet lunch, which is suitable for vegetarians
Activities:
* A talk on “Gravity in the Universe” by Dr David Bacon, University of Portsmouth
* A talk and workshop on “How light tells us everything we know about stars” by David Grace PGCE Tutor at the University of Aberystwyth
* An Astronomical quiz, devised by Adrian Milner, Leader of Cardigan U3A Astronomy Group
* Various astronomy websites will be displayed on laptops during the day
