Hi all- a most enjoyable 3.6 mile walk today starting from the green in Spittal. Although the walk was in dry weather conditions with occasional peeks of the sun, the recent rainy conditions made underfoot conditions muddy in places and the quantity of rain could be seen by the amount of water in the Spittal Brook as the 36 walker group crossed the bridge towards Golden Hill. The first of the two modest, although some would debate as being challenging!!! :-[, climbs resulted in fine views over the surrounding countryside towards Treffgarne and Rudbaxton. A weary but enthusiastic walking group returned to the Corner Piece pub for a welcome lunch. A sincere vote of thanks to Hazel Absalom and Maurice Gould, who has now thankfully recoverd well from his fractured ribs, as walk leaders was made by Wendy Proctor as Group Leader which was warmly supported by group.
