Hi all- 23 enthusiastic (authors note: for enthusiastic read certifiable!) walkers set off in slightly inclement weather (authors note: for inclement read initial heavy rain and drizzle which improved then got even worse!!) circumnavigated, just!, a 3.6 mile circuit starting and returning to the Huntsman Inn in Rosemarket. The judicious route selected by Brian Griffiths, as walk leader, was mainly over sealed surfaces or hardcore which due to the weather was a good planning decision on his part. The route set off to Westfield Farm and then down the end of Westfield Pill before joining the Brunel cycle route back in the direction of Johnston and leaving the route at Rosemarket to return to the Huntsman. Once the body parts that in theory were protected with adequate weatherproofs and protective gear were thoroughly wet the normal U3A euphoria set in and the walk was enjoyed by all. A sincere vote of thanks was made to Brian by Wendy after our lunch at the Huntsman. Wendy also started to collect names and deposits for the lunch at Paskeston Hall on 20th August – see newsletter, so don't delay!! Attach a few photos for you.
