Hi all- the forecast of settled weather and perhaps a thought of a Browns Fish and Chip Bar lunch tempted 27 walkers out for an approx. 3.2 mile circular walk of Pembroke and the Holyland Nature Reserve.
The route started from the Pembroke Lower Common car park and around the moat and the Castle onto the Mill Pond passing the recently commissioned memorial in memory of lost refinery workers.
Passing the 13/14th century Barnard’s Tower the group joined Golden Lane to drop down and into Holyland Nature Reserve.
The speed quickened as the Group left the reserve and headed for Browns Fish and Chip Bar where a welcome lunch was appreciated by the majority of the group.
The weather made the walk all the more enjoyable in warm barmy conditions under a sunny and clear blue sky.
Wendy Proctor was thanked for weaving her spell with the Weather Gods, especially after the recent atrocious weather conditions,  and she thanked Colin Hankinson as walk leader for getting everyone around in one piece and for having superlative patience! (Colin wrote that bit!)
Attach a few photos for you……
