Hi all- following the compulsory drug and psychiatric testing , the latter requiring an essential fail to start the walk! , 21 intrepid walkers set off from Nolton Haven after the short transfer from Newgale. The weather was testing with an on-shore breeze, gusting Force 5-6!, and with slight rain showers. The group were rewarded on the 3.2 mile walk with marvellous views of the Pembrokeshire coast which could be occasionally glimpsed through rain showers and mist. The terrain was undulating with 3 and 3/4 challenging inclines which brought a flush to the cheeks of some and a sinking feeling for others, including the author's. A very welcome and tasty lunch was taken in the Duke of Edinburgh Inn in Newgale and a warm vote of thanks for the walk organisation was made by Helen Lewis John, in Wendy's absence, to John and Joyce Roberts. John and Joyce were requested to repeat the walk next year in hopefully more amenable weather conditions so that it could be fully appreciated.
