Scam telephone calls
I have written to warn all the lunch group as 1 of our members has told me they have received an abrupt & bogus phone call from an “officious well-spoken English lady” who insisted they should ring another number because “they owed money”. They put the phone down & rang the police who told them that this was happening to a lot of older people in our area. Should you receive a phone call from 0191 308 2487 ignore it or alternatively, if you do answer, hang up immediately.
