The planning application for the new Haverfordwest Library at the site of the Riverside Market is currently available to view in full online at the link below. Click on the “View documents” section to see all detailed plans and information submitted with this application.
Along with the library will be a Tourist Information Centre, Gallery and Cafe. The existing traders from the Riverside Market have been gradually removed or relocated from the building, which is due to be empty at the end of the month. The existing library is currently in a temporary location next to the Community Learning Centre after it was removed from its previous location. It was previously moved so that contractors could assess and provide quotes for maintenance work on the old library building. The quotes were significantly more than anticipated due to complications caused by asbestos found in the building.
On the “Neighbour and Community Consultation” section of the planning application form the below information was submitted:
“Information letter drop and dedicated meetings with shop owners in Bridge Street and surround areas.
Public display of proposals located in County Hall
Meetings held with local community groups such as Chamber of Trade etc..”
Anyone wishing to make any comment for consideration during the planning decision should click on the “Comment on this Application” link and fill in the form. The “Notice End” date on the application form is 14th September 2016.
