Hi all- nearly 50 U3A Walkers and invited guests had a thoroughly enjoyable day at St Fagan’s Museum and Castle on Monday 12th May. The group were picked up at various points starting in Milford Haven and the last at Penblewyn Roundabout. The travelling times necessitated an earlier set time on certain members alarms clock but all were promptly picked up with arrival at St Fagan’s car park at about 11-15hrs. The group members went their various ways around the museum and grounds after an initial café/comfort break!!. Particular popular items visited were the relocated Tudor Merchants House, originally on the side of the Cleddau in Haverfordwest, St Teilo’s Church, the Castle and the various refreshment spots.
The party left St Fagan’s at 3-30pm and a 90 minute retail therapy break was taken at McArthur Glen shopping centre at Sarn Park services which was particularly appreciated by the female members on the trip.
After resuming our M4 journey a Birthday card and best wishes was made to Helen Lewis John by Brian Griffiths and a vote of appreciation to her for organising such an enjoyable and different Monday Walking day by Wendy Proctor.
A tired group eventually got back to Pembrokeshire with drop off times between 6-45 and 7-25pm.
