“COMMUNITY consultation has begun into plans for five extra trains to Fishguard.
Funded by the Welsh Assembly, the trains will come to the harbour station, Monday to Saturday, from September, and are in addition to the two current services which connect with the noon and midnight ferry services.
The North Pembrokeshire Transport Forum is pleased that the Welsh Government?s community consultation on the timetable for the additional trains has started.
A forum spokesman said: ?The timetable provides many more departure and arrival options for both residents and visitors, and it is hoped that there will be a wide response to the consultation from the north Pembrokeshire community.?
The trains will be timed to connect with other services, and the timetable has been designed to provide passengers with a range of day-trip opportunities.
It is hoped that the extra trains will offer a broader range of convenient arrival and departure times, and provide connections with Stena Line?s fast ferries services.
The consultation questionnaire and explanatory material can be downloaded from the forum?s website http://www.nptf.co.uk.
The consultation deadline is Friday, June 17th.“
