I recently visited my local physiotherapist and picked up a booklet entitled:Get up and Go – a guide to staying Healthy. The booklet covers tips and exercises to try to keep healthy and independent as we get older with special attention to the prevention of falls. Its published under the auspices of Public Health Wales and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and subsidised by Saga.
Unfortunately due to it s popularity it is currently out of print but there may be the odd copy available at GP's surgeries, physiotherapists or Health Centres which may be worth keeping an eye open for.
As an example of the content give below a suggested exercise regime for strength and balance. NB Always see your Dr first!!!
