…….I like many am getting a rash of pre-Christmas spam messages purporting to be from major retailers or carriers about fictitious orders.

Being just few. They all have a 'zipped' file attachment that you must on no account click on. A clue is that they may well appear to come from the supplier but if you look closely at the email address of the sender it is something different. e.g. RoyalMail UK .. Delete them immediately!
